Community action and lived experience—not medical advice, diagnosis, or emergency support.

Editorial standards

EXPERIENCE IS LABELED. FACTS ARE SOURCED. SPONSORS DO NOT BUY THE VERDICT.

These standards govern original actions, campaigns, stories, corrections, external sources, commercial relationships, and the boundary between lived experience and medical education.

Content lanes

  • Community action: original, general, nonmedical actions built around consent and practical support.
  • Lived experience: clearly attributed personal perspective that is never presented as a universal outcome.
  • Medical education: concise context linked to current authoritative sources, with a reviewed date.
  • Campaign: a defined action, window, participation boundary, sponsor disclosure when applicable, and post-campaign recap.

Sources

Higher-trust claims should rely on direct government, regulator, major disease-organization, or primary scholarly sources. Search snippets, influencer posts, product pages, and unsourced social claims are not substitutes.

Stories

No story is published without contributor consent, rights confirmation, privacy review, editing, and final approval. Public comments and direct messaging are not offered at launch. Medical claims in stories may be removed, contextualized, or linked to authoritative information.

Corrections

Material errors should be corrected promptly and transparently. Send the page URL, exact statement, and supporting source to [email protected]. Do not send medical records or unrelated personal information.

Commercial relationships

Any future sponsor, underwriter, affiliate, paid placement, or donated service must be clearly disclosed near the relevant content. Payment may not purchase treatment endorsement, story selection, false metrics, editorial control, or access to visitor health information.

Conflicts and endorsements

External organizations linked as resources do not endorse TeamCrohns unless a documented relationship explicitly states otherwise. Contributor appearance does not endorse every view on the site.

Review cadence

Medical links, crisis information, privacy statements, campaign status, and commercial disclosures should be checked whenever the relevant page changes and at scheduled editorial reviews.
